So today I’m going to be sharing with all of you my latest collaboration with DHC Skincare. DHC Skincare is Japan’s No. 1 direct skincare company. They specialize in beauty products, including skincare, body care and makeup items, as well as delicious gourmet food. The main vision behind DHC is rooted in the beneficial properties of virgin olive oil. Found to be one of nature’s finest ingredients for helping to achieve and maintain healthy, younger-looking skin, olive oil became the foundation for DHC’s full line of skin-gentle products. I received this extremely generous care package from DHC that I have been testing out for the past week.
The first product up for review is the Deep Cleansing Oil. I have some mixed feelings about this cleansing oil as I don’t particularly like the smell. Personally, I am not a fan of olives but I don’t mind using olive oil in my beauty/skincare routine as long has it doesn’t have that “olivey” scent to it. This cleanser works great. I’ve been using it with my Clarisonic and it completely dissolves all traces of dirt and makeup instantly. It leaves my skin feeling super soft and silky and not one bit oily.
When it comes to facial cleansing, I don’t normally turn to soap bars to do the job. However, I’ve taken a liking to this amazing mild soap bar from DHC. I only use this soap for days where I don’t wear any makeup. I really love the fact that it leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed without that tight dry feeling. This bar is super hydrating because it is made with nourishing olive oil and honey which of course helps maintain your complexion’s natural moisture balance. For sensitive skin or people who don’t prefer to have a complex cleansing routine I recommend this soap bar because it hydrates so well you could even skip the moisturizer.
This DHC signature moisturizer is pretty darn amazing! It comes in an oil-based texture instead of your average cream-type solutions. It is made with Flor de Aceite, the finest olive oil available and purified in their state-of-the-art laboratories in Japan. Because it has so many vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, it effectively gives all skin types a healthy-looking glow with the oil of handpicked, organic olives. I found that it goes on very smoothly and is ultra-hydrating and surprisingly lightweight so it will not cause any irritating or clogging of pores.
As soon as I opened this body butter I was in love! First and foremost I’d like to say that the smell is beyond amazing. It has a lively green apple and rose scent that is so delicious! This body butter seals in moisture and covers the skin in a rich veil of hydration, featuring cocoa and shea butters, as well as emollient oils. For these hot summer days that we have been experiencing in Vancouver, I have been using this to keep hydrated. The formula is non-greasy and very lightweight so I couldn’t feel anything on my skin which is a bonus. It also features seven natural botanicals for ultra softness: shea butter, cocoa butter, olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, squalane and argan oil.
DHC Velvet Skin Coat makeup primer instantly softens and improves the look of your skin. It minimizes the look of fine lines, pores and imperfections while reducing oiliness to help makeup glide on and last longer—with no “drying” time needed. Plus, it leaves skin feeling silky smooth. The texture is very smooth and velvety. It fills in deeper pores and smoothes out any rough spots from blemishes. The finish is matte and on combination skin, it works really well and doesn’t leave your faced feeling heavy and oily after a few hours. Also it has been working pretty well for the hot and humid days under some foundation.
