L’Oréal Infallible Total Cover Foundation Review

L’Oréal Infallible Total Cover Foundation Review

The L’Oréal Infallible line has been by far my absolute favourite for foundation hands down.  I fell in love the day I tried the Infallible Pro-Matte foundation and have yet to find a foundation that beats my love for the pro-matte.  Then the Pro-Glow foundation came out and that one was amazing for a dewey look (read my review on both here).  Following that, L’Oréal just released their 3rd foundation into the Infallible collection “Total Cover”.  Now you all know I just couldn’t wait to get my hands on it and test it out.

The Infallible Total Cover foundation claims that you get up to 24 hours of full coverage with a lightweight feel and a natural finish.  After wearing it for 2 days straight, I think I’ve made up my mind that this is definitely not a hit for me.  I am actually really disappointed because I wanted this foundation to work so bad but I just hated the way it made my face look.  I don’t know if it was the wrong shade or what but it just did not work for me.

As for the coverage, I don’t think it is as full coverage as I expected it to be.  If you are going to market a product and say it is “full coverage” then it should actually BE “full coverage”.  To me, the coverage felt the same as the pro-matte foundation.  It blends and covers most dark spots, blemishes, scars, and any hyper pigmentation but not fully at 100%.  I would say that the Infallible Total Cover is about 75-80% full coverage.  This foundation seems to have a more pink undertone as opposed to the pro-matte and pro-glow which have more yellow undertones.  Usually I am the shade 104 in the pro-matte so I purchased the 303 in the Total Cover because it was as close to my skin tone as I could get it without looking off.  I still felt that it was a little too light and pink.  The Total Cover foundation comes in a total of 12 shades.

The formula isn’t at all like your typical foundation.  This formula is a very thick, creamy, almost mousse like texture which makes it kinda hard to get out of the tube.  When you apply it on your face, I feel like it was really hard to blend it properly with a beauty blender so I used a foundation brush to buff in the rest.  It stays pretty matte throughout the day and does a good job at oil control.  One positive I did get from this is that although the foundation appears to be thick, it applies nicely to the face and doesn’t feel thick or heavy which of course, is a good thing.

Overall I think I would give this foundation a 6/10 and would say that the pro-matte and pro-glow are by far much better than the Total Cover foundation.

Thanks for your honest feedback, it’s great to get some reliable advice on products. I just bought the Infallable primer and 24hr matte as recommended by a friend. Fingers crossed it’s as long lasting as it sounds and lasts the test of time on my shiny tzone.
    Jaz xoxo
