L’Oréal Infallible Pro-Matte & Pro-Glow Foundation Review

L’Oréal Infallible Pro-Matte & Pro-Glow Foundation Review

Finding the right foundation for your face is the first key step to a truly flawless makeup look.  I’ve tried tons and tons of different types of foundations, both luxury/brand name and drug store kinds.  I have never truly been satisfied with an “all-day” wear until I tried the L’Oréal Infallible Pro-Matte & Pro-Glow foundations.  First and foremost I’d like to state that this is NOT a sponsored post.  I wanted to share this with you all because I love love love these foundations and if L’Oréal ever decides to stop producing them I think my life just may be over.

L’Oréal Infallible Pro-Matte
If you have oily skin, this is by far the BEST foundation for you.  This foundation truly kicks ass for me and it is my every-day go to foundation.  Im pretty lazy and the last thing i want is to be blotting every hour or applying translucent powder touchups – ain’t nobody got time for that!  The pro-matte foundation really does what it says its gonna do.  It is as matte as they come and the best part is that your face stays matte!  This is my go-to summer foundation because it doesn’t run or get oily from the heat and humidity but you can wear it all year around just like I do.  It is a bit thicker than your average foundation and has high coverage.  The coverage is so good that I usually don’t bother with concealer unless I use it to highlight & contour #slayage. It also does a phenomenal job at not settling into your pores and lines/wrinkles so it leaves a flawless airbrushed look.  The price is usually around $19.99 at your local drug store (or at least it is here in Vancouver) but sometimes I find it on sale for as low as $14.99.  Even at the $20 full price it is half of what I usually pay for a foundation at Sephora and its the same size (30 ml).  The foundation is more of a yellowish tinge which I feel matches my skin more than others I’ve tried.

L’Oréal Infallible Pro-Glow
I always envy those girls with the perfect dewy glow on Instagram.  I feel that when I tried to replicate that look I turned out like a greased potato – no lie.  I was beyond ecstatic when I heard that L’Oréal came out with a dewy glow version.  I’m not sure why, but something about this pro-glow foundation didn’t get me as excited as I thought I would be.  The coverage is not as full as the matte version so you would need to add a bit of concealer before applying foundation but overall it is still pretty great coverage.  It goes on really smooth just like the pro-matte version and doesn’t set into your pores and lines.  The consistency of the formula is more liquid and less thick than the matte version.  The foundation definitely felt very hydrating and luminous and the “glow” was a very subtle satin finish.  There was no shimmer or glitter (so not to worry ladies!) and it looks like a natural dewy glow.  The only thing that I did not like is because I already have somewhat oily skin it does tend to appear slightly more “dewy” the longer I wear it throughout the day.  It did require occasional touch-ups with some translucent powered or blotting papers.  I find that it is similar to the GA Luminous Silk foundation in terms of dewiness and glow.  If I had to choose I would probably stick to the matte version but thats just my personal opinion.
