Ever walked into Sephora thinking how great their giant display of make-up brushes is? Well I know I did! Sometimes when I’m getting ready in the mornings I’m usually in a rush and I really don’t have time to waste looking around and digging through copious amounts of brushes in makeup bags in throughout my drawers. There has to be a better and faster way!! I’ve seen this DIY makeup brush holder going around for quite some time. I finally decided to make one of my own.
**This is GREAT if you’re on a budget and don’t want to spend more than $10 on a makeup brush holder**
Things you will need:
Make Up Brushes
You can either use one of your extra glass vases at home or you can buy a new one. I just ended up purchasing a new one at Michael’s arts and crafts. For under $5 you can find different shapes and sizes of glass vases. You can be creative and use a fishbowl shaped vase or just the standard square glass shape that I used. The smaller glass vase in my pictures is actually the left over glass from a finished candle. Pretty smart huh! I just took out the wick and washed out the glass and re-used it for a mini brush holder Also, I would suggest to stick to a clear glass vase with no colour because you will later get the colour out of the vase filler.
Once you have chosen your glass vase, then its time to select your vase filler. You can use any type of vase filler you like. I would recommend to stay away from sand as it will stick to your makeup brushes and it will make a mess. Also, try to stay away from glass fillers like marbles or heavy pearls because it wont be easy to take out your brushes and you will have to use a bit of force to squeeze the brush back in. Stick to light/plastic vase fillers. The one I used is just a clear vase filler which later ends up looking like shiny diamonds.
Pour the vase filler into the glass vase and voila…there you have your own pretty makeup brush holder!! Enjoy 🙂
